History

Toni & Guy is a global hairdressing and education business founded in London, United Kingdom in 1963 by brothers Giuseppe (Toni) and Gaetano (Guy) Mascolo. They were later joined by younger brothers Bruno and Anthony Mascolo. There are more than 400 salons in the organization and it has won over 50 British Hairdressing Awards including Best British Artistic Team a record (11 times), British Hairdresser of the Year three times, Newcomer of the Year seven times - Toni's daughter Sacha won the title at 19 years of age, the youngest person even to win this award, Sacha went on to win London Hairdresser of the Year in 1999 and nominated twice for British Hairdresser of the Year. Sacha is Global Creative Director and her husband James Tarbuck is Global Brand Director.

It has its own client magazine and in-salon television station ‘TONI&GUY.TV’ the brainchild of James Tarbuck, as well as salons and academies around the world in the UK, Ireland, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Holland, Sweden, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Kazahstan, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Thailand, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Belarus, Belgium, China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Australia, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Iran, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. The TONI&GUY salons in the USA are headed up by Toni's younger brother Bruno Mascolo. It also manufactures many products in the UK including award winning haircare label.m Professional Haircare which includes electrical items. It has a sister salon group essensuals Hairdressing, which is headed up by Toni's eldest son Christian Mascolo and more recently essensuals London salons in North America, the first one opened in Los Angeles in 2010 with Vancouver and Texas following shortly after.

Toni & Guy International is a UK-based company run by Toni Mascolo. It runs franchise salons worldwide.

Toni & Guy USA

Bruno Mascolo heads up the U.S. company, Toni & Guy USA - separate but related through history to Toni & Guy International - and has its headquarters in Dallas, Texas. It includes salons and TIGI Linea, the haircare products division best known for its Bed Head, S-factor, Catwalk haircare lines, Bed Head cosmetics and TIGI Pro appliances. TIGI was acquired by Unilever in 2009.

Tigi products are now sold nationwide.

Guy Mascolo

Guy Mascolo died of a heart attack at his home in Dallas, Texas on May 6, 2009, aged 65.[1]
